«Aroe» pronounced ‘Arrow’ Something we have all used at some point or another whilst painting. Even a simple name choice enabled him to embed himself into the common lexicon of graffiti. By choosing a name so intrinsic to our discipline, that you could not escape saying his name, even if you disliked the man. Here is someone that has set himself the hardest task in this game: longevity. Graffiti is a marathon, not a sprint. Aroe started graffiti-writing in 1983, and is still active to this date, 2015. Someone that has spent more time doing graffiti than the younger generations of writers have been on this planet.
His devout resolution to stay current, constantly adapting and recognising the young writers hold the key to the future is obvious to anyone that has witnessed him in action first hand. You now have in your hands an opportunity to enjoy the painting, concepts, philosophy and stories of a life spent off the beaten tracks.
